STEVE’S BIO: After 11 years of serving and cooking in restaurants, Steve Coomes became a journalist covering the restaurant and spirits industries. Over the past 30 years he has edited and reported for dozens of print and online publications and authored and/or co-authored five books covering both industries. His first book, “Country Ham: A Southern Tradition of Hogs, Salt & Smoke,” led to his creation of food and spirits pairings centered mostly on American treasures such as country hams and whiskeys. A lifelong Kentuckian, Steve lives in Louisville.
